If that intrigues you, check it all out below…Bargains from the latest Xbox salesHeidi — Kingdom Come DeliveranceIt’s kind of crazy that you can get the amount of content that Kingdom Come: Deliverance offers for 75% off. I usually love fantasy elements in medieval games, but Kingdom Come: Deliverance’s focus on more realistic aspects really worked well: you play as Henry, the son of a blacksmith, and to start off, you can’t do anything. Henry doesn’t know how to fight, how to read, how to pick locks; he’s not some fabled hero, he’s just Henry. He needs to sleep and eat just like anyone else, his clothes and gear aren’t invincible, and he can’t just pile everything he finds into his inventory, as food actually goes off if you leave it too long, or he’ll become overburdened. He needs to haggle for goods, and to keep an eye on his reputation. If he eats too much, he suffers. If he can’t patch himself up, he bleeds to death. It really makes you root for Henry as he sets out on a quest for vengeance, and each successfully-learnt skill feels like a real achievement. You can dive into all aspects of medieval life in Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and watch Henry grow from a (slightly foolish) lowly nobody into a warrior to be reckoned with. Explore majestic castles, deep forests, thriving villages and countless other realistic settings in medieval Bohemia!Kes — Session: Skateboarding Sim GameAfter a certain point, I have to wonder how much hyperbole I have to throw at something to make people realise a game is cool. Session doesn’t really need that, though. It’s so laid back and uncaring of any of the arcadey gameplay hooks that made those Tony Hawk, OlliOlli, and Skate games fun. It really just doesn’t give a flying kickflip. It cares about physics simulation, mimicking the feel of real life in the controls, and making your own fun. I played this in Paris at Bigben Week alongside The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, Steelrising, and WRC Generations and to be honest, I ended up just hanging out with the PR guys as they showed me how much better they were than me at Session while we freaked out about the first time I managed to ollie onto a ledge. Thanks, guys — ego boosted. That is the fun of Session: finding a line you like, trying to chain together tricks, and then sticking at it until you get it. Then you replay it, record it, picture it with an absurd amount of camera options, and share it with other people. That’s it. It feels great, looks great — I am enamoured with it. Session is utterly fantastic and if this has piqued your interest, I feel like my work is done and you can go and grab the game without worry or concern. Hyperbole avoided. Session: Skate Sim (Game Preview)Made by and for skaters, the dual stick controls faithfully reproduce your feet on the skateboard for an ultra-realistic experience. Try out real-life iconic skate spots, customise your skater and equipment with items from the top brandsLuke — Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3Every now and then, I think back to the time we witnessed Peak Capcom as the publisher superseded Marvel vs. Capcom 3 on Xbox 360 with an enhanced Ultimate version of the crossover fighter in the same year. Wild. Still, Ultimate’s hugely expanded roster makes for even more ridiculous three-on-three clashes, and even greater potential for crazy combos where the whole team gets in on the action to really do a number on your opponents’ health bars. It’s flashy and fun on a basic level, but really comes into its own if you’re willing to put in the time to get the most out of any given team/trio — Capcom did a superb job of giving many characters their own unique gimmicks (like Frank West needing to take pictures to level up and improve his moves, or Phoenix Wright attacking with speech bubbles and accruing evidence to destroy foes with a crushing ‘guilty’ verdict), and there’s hours of fun to be had just messing around with the characters to see what they can all do. Sadly, follow-up Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite was a huge step back from what made this so good, and even a decade on, UMvC3 is still one of the best tag-team fighters out there.The Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 achievements, however, are a bit on the silly side. If you want the completion, you’ll need to complete almost all of the Missions (some of the later ones are brutal), finish Arcade mode at least 51 times to see all endings, rack up a ten-win streak in online Ranked matches, and take on every single character online, which you’ll likely need to boost since there are a bunch of characters that see little to no use. It’s a tough list and no mistake, but UMvC3 is a fantastic fighter even if you don’t want to commit to the grind of some of those particularly spicy achievements.ULTIMATE MARVEL VS. CAPCOM 3Marvel and Capcom join forces to deliver the most frenetic 3 vs 3 tag battles ever with Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3. This release comes fully loaded, including all previous DLC, Marvel VS. Capcom : Official Complete Works, and boasting full HD 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second.Sean — What Remains of Edith Finch? I’ve raved about What Remains of Edith Finch countless times on TA before, and you’re going to have to put up with me doing it again right now, I’m afraid. If you missed WRoEF when it was on Xbox Game Pass, you need to pick it up now for the price of $5.99/£4.79/€5.99, which is more than worth it. You play as Edith, who has returned back to her family home in the search of answers as to why she’s the last remaining member of her family left alive. While exploring her deceased relatives’ bedrooms, each death is presented to the players via a short gameplay sequence, which gives you more backstory and understanding of each family member, with some being utterly heartbreaking. What Remains of Edith Finch is often described as the best walking simulator out there, and it is. The story is fantastic, and the short gameplay sequences are both memorable and engaging. What Remains of Edith Finch is also a quick and easy completion — you’ll nab 1,000 Gamerscore in under three hours, and you’ll have a damn good time doing it. What Remains of Edith FinchWhat Remains of Edith Finch is a collection of strange tales about a family in Washington state. As Edith, you’ll explore the colossal Finch house, searching for stories as she explores her family history and tries to figure out why she’s the last one in her family left alive. Each story you find lets you experience the life of a new family member on the day of their death, with stories ranging from the distant past to the present day.The PC version of this game does not support Xbox LiveTom — Murdered: Soul Suspect While Murdered: Soul Suspect doesn’t offer you anything much in the way of ingenious new mechanics or gripping story beats that have you on the edge of your seat for the entire time you’re playing, it does give you an entertaining romp through the spirit world for a few hours. I quite enjoy a mystery game, a good whodunit investigation, or pretty much anything that starts with someone dying. This time though, that someone is you. As a phantasmal apparition of your former self, you have to travel around what seems to be a nice little town in search of your killer — yes, I know that’s an oxymoron, but that’s what you do! You’re not the only one stalking the living, though, so you do come face-to-face with other ethereal creatures known as Demons. It’s a stealth game, so once they’ve got hold of you, you’re pretty much a goner, and will be sent back via a checkpoint system. It adds a pinch of danger to the mix, which is certainly appreciated, considering that the story itself isn’t overly energetic in its execution. Honestly, you’re definitely getting more than your money’s worth with its current 85% discount, and all of the Murdered: Soul Suspect achievements can be completed in less than ten hours, so it’s a winner either way.
