Nacon and Spiders have announced that GreedFall is getting a sequel. GreedFall 2: The Dying World will launch in 2024 for both consoles and PC.According to publisher Nacon, GreedFall 2 will “continue the winning formula” of GreedFall. The RPG will focus on story and player choice, but will also include “new gameplay in the form of more tactical combat and revisits the unique universe created by its predecessor.”GreedFall 2 screenshotsFrom the brief blurb about the game, it sounds like GreedFall 2 will actually be a prequel to the original game. GreedFall 2’s story “starts three years before the events of the first game and the adventures of De Sardet,” Nacon says. This time, you will play as a native of Teer Fradee, who has been “uprooted by force” from your homeland and taken to the continent of Gacane. With the world scarred by not just the Malichor plague but also the political scheming of various factions, you will have to regain your freedom and take control of your destiny. To do this, you will need to use diplomacy or combat, along with the help from your allies, to “end one man’s ambitions of conquest, which could spell the end for the continent and your island.”Jehanne Rousseau, founder and director of Spiders, said, “In this new chapter, players will explore the old continent with its bigger and more diverse environments. They will meet new companions and new factions, and I hope they will have unforgettable adventures.” GreedFall 2 is coming to consoles and PC in 2024. Specific consoles have not yet been specified.
