Forgotton Anne, the gorgeous 2D platformer from ThroughLine Games and Square Enix, appears to have suddenly been delisted from the Xbox Store. According to our data, Forgotton Anne was removed from sale recently. We can’t say when exactly, but we think it was delisted sometime yesterday or overnight. Forgtton Anne removed from Xbox StoreWhile the Xbox version is no longer available for purchase on the Xbox Store, it appears that the Windows version of Forgotton Anne can still be purchased on the storefront by searching for it. The Japanese port of the game also looks to have been delisted. The game has also been removed from the PlayStation Store, but it still remains available for purchase on both the Nintendo eShop and Steam. According to a post over on the Square Enix website, Square Enix says the publishing rights for Forgotton Anne are reverting back to the IP owner, so it’s likely that these delistings, which seem a bit random and all over the place, are down to Square Enix losing the rights to publishing the game. “The publishing rights of Forgotton Anne have now reverted to the IP owner,” Square Enix writes. “We would like to thank Throughline Games for being a part of Collective’s history and wish them the best of luck in their future endeavours. While you are gone, you will never be forgotten.”Please note that Forgotton Anne will still be available to purchase on various platforms, but sadly not through us.”So it appears that the publishing rights for Forgotton Anne have been given back to developer Throughline Games. While the delisting is likely only temporary, we have reached out to Throughline for clarification. What are your thoughts on Forgotton Anne? Let us know in the comments!
