The action-RPG game sees you bound to the land of the Valley of Acrea and exploring alongside your companion, the Xhinnon wolf Boji.In Stray Blade, you are brought back to life after dying in the Lost Valley, and embark on a quest to restore balance to the land alongside your animal companion Boji.When does Stray Blade launch?Stray Blade is now set to launch in 2023 for Xbox Series X|S. You, the first explorer to find the Lost Valley, are killed in the discovery — until you’re somehow brought back to life. Since the spell hiding the Lost Valley has broken, a range of human factions have invaded, and you must seek to restore balance to the land while also looking for answers.Time doesn’t wait for you, and locations will change — for instance, a camp you once cleared might become overrun by monsters again. You will progress through battle, while Boji, a craftsman, will hunt the land for lore. “Acrea’s colourful world ranges from overgrown city ruins to frozen caves and winding canyons,” the devs say. “Together with your companion, explore the deepest corners of an ever-changing world bristling with adventure. Find rare materials, recipes, weapons, treasure, powerful abilities, and epic surprises. One of Stray Blade’s pillars is exhilarating exploration, which is elevated by adding Metroidvania elements with intense Soulslike combat,” the devs add. “Traversing the world of Stray Blade will reward you with rare crafting materials and blueprints, but you will also gain access to secret passages through the ever-changing landscape. These secret passages will give you options when approaching your objectives.
