The much-delayed Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has gotten a new developer following six months of silence on the game, being handed to Ubisoft Montreal who developed the original game in 2003 instead. Development will no longer be done by Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai.The game returns to its birthplacePrince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake had already been delayed three times before it was left out completely from Ubisoft’s latest financial report. The latest statement, which announces the new developer, seems to hint at another delay seeing as the game will now be released “when it’s ready”. No reason was given for the change in development team.The development of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will now be led by Ubisoft Montreal, the very birth place of the epic Sands of Time trilogy.This decision is an important step and the team, building upon the work achieved by Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai, will now take the time they need to regroup on the scope of the game to deliver you the best experience for this remake of an all-time classic, when it’s ready.We want to thank you all for your continuous support and patience throughout the development. We wouldn’t hear anything for periods of a few months and nothing has been seen of the game since its announcement in September 2020, when its graphical style was roundly criticized by players.
