Xingyao Optical has announced the details of its latest lens, the Brightin Star 16mm F2.8 lens for full-frame mirrorless camera systems.
Little information has been shared about the lens, but what is known is that the fully manual lens is constructed of 12 elements in 11 groups. It also features an aperture range of F2.8 through F22 and has a minimum focusing distance of 30cm (1′).

The lens will be available for Canon RF, Leica L, Nikon Z and Sony E mount camera systems. Both the aperture and focus rings feature a knurled pattern and offer distance markings. It’s unclear at this time whether the aperture is clicked or unclicked, but past Brightin Star lenses have featured clicked aperture rings.
According to Chinese camera publication, CameraBeta, the lens is expected to ship in June 2022 for a retail price of 1,800 yuan, which amounts to roughly $280. Brightin Star lenses are sold on Amazon, so keep an eye out if you’re interested in picking one up once they’re available.
