EA has announced a rebranding of DICE LA into Ripple Effect Studios as the development team transitions away from working as a support studio. The team will be led by general manager Christian Grass alongside Respawn Entertainment’s head honcho Vince Zampella, who will juggle the two studios. The news was announced on the EA website. There seems to be a restructure in place, with the studio currently recruiting across all departments as the team moves into a new LA campus. These are senior positions, suggesting an entire culture change to the team. “Our ambition is to become a studio that excels at everything — not just making games but also the process of how we make them. We want to reach a super level of quality in everything we do, no matter how big or small.”As DICE LA, the team worked on every Battlefield game since 4 and was integral to the creation of the underrated Hardline. The team is coming to the end of helping the central DICE team working on Battlefield 2042. After that project, Ripple will be working on something entirely new. As to what this project could be? No one knows! What do you think the next project might be? Can Vince Zampella juggle two studios? Let us know in the comments!
