With the Atlanta Braves visiting Los Angeles to take on the Dodgers, Charlie Freeman reunited with Dansby Swanson.
Atlanta Braves fans got to see firsthand what it is like to not have Freddie Freeman on the team. On Monday, the Braves headed to Los Angeles to take on the Dodgers, where they got to see Freeman in his new uniform in person.
Freeman had a reunion with his former teammates ahead of the game. That was not the only reunion to take place. Freeman’s son, Charlie, was on the field and spotted Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson. Charlie sprinted to Swanson to give him a hug.

Yeah, that had to hit Braves fans right in the feels.
During the game, Freeman made an immediate impact against his former team. In his first at-bat against the team that drafted him, Freeman took Huascar Ynoa deep to left field to give the Dodgers an early 1-0 lead. Not only was that his first home run against the Braves, but it was also his first homer of the season.
After the Braves won the World Series last season, Freeman hit unrestricted free agency. What seemed like a guarantee did not become reality, as both parties were not in agreement on a contract. The Braves pivoted to trade for Matt Olson, who they signed to an eight-year contract extension. Freeman then signed a six-year, $162 million contract with the Dodgers.
