Dungeon Defenders: Going Rogue asks players to once again protect the Eternia Crystal, but this time as a roguelike spin-off that throws you against the merciless creatures within The Dungeon, and it’s coming to Xbox.If you’ve blasted through the Dungeon Defenders, Dungeon Defenders II, and Dungeon Defenders: Awakened achievements and have grown weary of the tower defence action RPG nature of the series, you’re in luck. Dungeon Defenders: Going Rogue does exactly what it says on the tin; throws you back into The Dungeon with a roguelike twist. Hopping into the shoes of the Squire, Huntress, Apprentice, or Monk — each will have its own abilities, individual attacks, and towers at the start of each adventure — you and up to three other co-op buddies can take on the creatures of The Dungeon in an attempt to protect the Eternia Crystal. As you battle across fortresses, castle rooftops, forests, and more, you’ll accrue ever-improving gear that can be used to flesh out your own build styles, an arsenal of powerful weaponry, and a combination of modifiers called Runes. Be careful, though, because failure means death and the loss of your hard-earned loot. “Dungeon Defenders: Going Rogue is an exciting new addition to the series, originally starting as a new game mode that blossomed into an entirely new game,” says Chromatic Games’ creative director, Alec Saare. “We are harmonising the beloved elements of Dungeon Defenders with the ever-changing customisability and replayability innate to the roguelite genre. Creating fun challenges for players to take on over and over again is our favourite part of working on this beloved series!”Dungeon Defenders: Going Rogue launches into Steam Early Access today, but a full release is scheduled for a later date for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.Will you be looking forward to more adventures in this fantastic series?
