The Apex Legends team made a surprise announcement: the update for the Warriors Collection Event, out today, also brings with it the current-gen versions of the game!As EA says, Xbox players don’t need to do anything, as the current-gen version of the game will arrive via Smart Delivery. So, the native current-gen versions of Apex Legends arrive today, with more current-gen features planned for future updates. If you’re chasing those Apex Legends achievements, you’ll be able to do so in 4K from today on Xbox Series X. EA adds that full 60hz gameplay and HDR will be available for both Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, while higher resolution shadow maps and greater LOD distances will be available only for Xbox Series X. Future updates will bring 120hz gameplay, visual improvements, and audio improvements for Xbox Series X|S, while PS5 players will also get adaptive triggers and haptics.This all arrives alongside the Warriors Collection Event, which also brings the temporary return of 9v9 mode Control, a changeup for Caustic Treatment, the new Drop-Off Arena map, themed cosmetics, a new reward tracker, and more.
