Halo Infinite and Minecraft co-developer SkyBox Labs is currently hiring candidates with AAA development experience for various roles, to work on two undisclosed AAA projects, with one being an “original SkyBox Labs IP.”As spotted by Twitter user FaizShaikh7681, SkyBox Labs is on the lookout for developers to join its ranks, who are “both passionate and experienced in AAA game development.” There are various roles available on the developer’s website; some are for Halo Infinite, Halo Forge, and Minecraft, but there are also roles available for two unannounced AAA projects.Currently, the studio is looking for an associate software engineer, lead environment artist, senior gameplay animator, and senior producer to work on an “original SkyBox Labs IP.” According to the role descriptions, this title will be the developer’s “largest original title ever,” and it’s looking for candidates that have experience working on AAA projects. The title is currently in the early stages of development, so we don’t expect to be hearing about it any time soon. The second title currently has roles available for an environment modeller and level designer, with both roles looking to be filled in Spring 2022. Interestingly, this mysterious game is a co-development project for one of the “world’s most popular AAA RPG game franchises,” which is “a fan favourite around the world.”As well as working on both the Halo and Minecraft franchises, SkyBox Labs has also worked closely with Wizards of the Coast, supporting development on Magic: The Gathering Arena. The team released their own project back in 2020. Titled Stela, the game is a cinematic platformer that follows a woman witnessing the final days of a mysterious planet. The Stela achievements page here currently holds a TA community rating of four stars, so the team’s original work has gone down well with our community. What do you think we could be seeing from SkyBox Labs? Let us know down in the comments!
