A Black Ops Cold War update adds the WMD multiplayer map as a “remaster of a fan favourite multiplayer map,” as well as the Vargo 52 Assault Rifle as a new weapon.Over on a blog post (thanks, Eurogamer), the devs say, “First introduced to players in the original Call of Duty: Black Ops, WMD is a large Multiplayer map featuring a multitude of power positions throughout its interior and exterior spaces.” The team that spawns on the left side of the map gets access to the Crane and Research, while those on the right have access to Silo, Shipment, and Production. Verticality is important, and they add that you should “expect a lot of action around the central Production Facility.”The Vargo 52 Assault Rifle is available for multiplayer and Zombies, and the team adds that it’s a “full-auto assault rifle. Good damage at mid-range with a fast fire rate. Improved muzzle velocity and reliable handling for steady firing control.” You unlock it in multiplayer by dealing 1,000 damage in 15 different completed matches while using Assault Rifles, and in Zombies by taking out 750 enemies “while using an Assault Rifle that has been Pack-a-Punched three times.”The update becomes available today, March 4th.
