Back 4 Blood has now surpassed 10 million players, and Turtle Rock Studios has announced the game’s first major expansion, Tunnels of Terror, which launches on April 12th with a new activity, Cleaners, and more.Turtle Rock Studios and Warner Bros. Games have announced that Back 4 Blood has now seen more than 10 million players descend on Fort Hope to help the Cleaners fight the Ridden hordes. “To achieve such a milestone in the short time since the launch of Back 4 Blood is a historic event for our studio and this franchise,” said Steve Goldstein, Turtle Rock Studios president and general manager. “As we look ahead, we’re excited to keep the momentum going with our upcoming expansion, Tunnels of Terror, which will offer more cooperative content for fans to continue cleansing the world of the Ridden.”The Tunnels of Terror DLC could be a good reason to return to the game and potentially finish the Back 4 Blood achievements. It’s the first major expansion to launch for the game and will introduce a new co-op activity called Ridden Hives. There will be seven dungeon-style hives to explore with up to four players to claim unique rewards that can only be collected from the Ridden Hives activity. Beware, though, that the hives will include new variants of Warped Ridden — which will also be playable in PvP — and you’ll need to fight your way through the likes of high damage-dealing Rippers, carefully out manoeuvre landmine-setting Urchins, cut the monstrous Shredders down to size, and more. Alongside the new activity and Ridden, a multitude of additions will be introduced in the way of eight exclusive character skins, 12 weapon skins, seven new legendary weapons, new cards, and more. Two new Cleaners will also be joining Fort Hope to help the cause: Sharice, an axe-wielding firefighter, and Heng, a no-nonsense restaurateur. Talking of Fort Hope, a new difficulty level will be introduced in a free update releasing alongside the expansion in April. Called ‘No Hope,’ the new difficulty is aimed at elite players and will add a new level of challenge.Back 4 Blood’s Tunnels of Terror DLC will be available on April 12th.
