Find out where and how you can duel characters in Chapter 3 Season 1 to complete the Week 11 quest.
Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1’s Week 11 challenges have arrived. The season is winding down, but there’s still a lot of XP remaining to help you finish the Battle Pass and beyond. Most weekly quests grant players 25K XP, so it is critical to understand how to complete them. Week 11 provided seven new challenges for players to complete.
Today, ESTNN covers the “dueling a character” quest. We’ll explain where you can find each character and how to defeat one of them to secure yourself some experience points.
Where to find Mancake, Ronin and Shanta
This Week 11 quest requires you to locate one of three non-player characters (NPCs) —Mancake, Ronin or Shanta. Each one roams a set area on the Island, thus making them relatively straightforward to locate. Mancake spawns in the fan-favorite Butter Barn landmark; Ronin is in the southeast portion of Covert Cavern and Shanta patrols the area southeast of Condo Canyon.
Mancake or Shanta is the easiest for this quest, mainly due to the popularity of Covert Cavern. Once you decide on an NPC, the next step is to challenge and defeat them in one-on-one combat.
How to Duel a Character & Strategies
The NPC concept dates back to Chapter 2, as does the dueling option. This option allows players to fight a character and collect weapons upon successfully defeating them. Refer to the image above to see how to initiate a duel. You must start a dialogue with your chosen character and select the “challenge to a duel” option.
Make sure you have a weapon before committing to the fight. Once accepting it, you’ll be sent backward by the character before Mancake, Ronin or Shanta start trying to eliminate you. While the process is generally straightforward, the NPCs can sometimes have flawless aiming abilities. A reliable method to utilize is building around the character and working from different angles. That way, you can protect yourself from fire and take the character out before they become an issue.
Upon eliminating the NPC, you’ll receive weapons as a reward and 25K XP from the quest. It may take you a few tries to complete the quest—mainly because other players want to do the same. However, as with any quest, this one will become less popular over time. You could always wait until Week 12 challenges go live if you’re struggling to defeat one of the three characters.
You now have all the information required to duel and defeat an NPC in Chapter 3 Season 1. The season ends in less than one month, so Battle Pass holders should look to reach level 200 to unlock all exclusive cosmetics. Those include the Super Styles for Spider-Man, Harlowe, Lt. John Llama, Ronin and Shanta.
