Nacon has announced its plans to acquire the developer and publisher, Daedalic Entertainment, in a deal worth €53 million, which is set to be concluded later this year.Daedalic Entertainment is one of Germany’s largest and oldest video game companies, supporting 87 members of staff and sitting on a portfolio of games such as the Deponia series, Blackguards, Shadow Tactics, and current project The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. “We knew, through our current collaboration on Gollum, that Nacon and Daedalic share the same values and the same objectives to deliver unique experiences to gamers,” says Nacon chairman and CEO Alain Falc in the announcement. “Therefore, it seemed logical to go further together and we’re extremely happy of this acquisition. It represents a significant step in Nacon’s strategy.” The deal worth €53 million is expected to close sometime this year, once the relevant regulators have approved it. The acquisition will see Daedalic Entertainment join Nacon’s roster of 16 studios, which includes the likes of Cyanide, Spiders, Eko Software, and more. It will also help Nacon’s portfolio of AA games, with Daedalic already planning on releasing nine additional games in 2022.Are you looking forward to any of Daedalic’s upcoming games?
