What’s new in Ultimate Team this week? (February 19th)

Sterling heads up Team of the Week 22 with a 90-rated card, which will prove useless in T-minus… no, wait, no countdown needed. He is already useless because he has already had a POTM card and a Winter Wildcard, both of which were better than this one. Obviously, only the Winter Wildcard is available on the market for around 400k compared to the 100k needed for this inform, but I feel like grabbing Mane is probably the better option anyway. This highlights the issues with a saturated market this time of year, millions of versions of the same player with only minute differences between them, but being sold for two entirely different values. Nabil Fakir, one of my favourite players, has made the cut with a decent 86-rated CAM card which is selling for 80k, but he has had a Europa League SBC that was one rating higher. With other players like Reus, Mike Maignan, Trippier, De Ligt, and Mitrovic — the big-man has 31 goals in the Championship already! — the 86-rated SBC-fodder are out in force. The featured player, the one with a star above him, is an 84-rated version of a Mattia Zaccagni from Lazio. It is a fine card, like the rest of this week’s offerings. Our Pick: Ward-Prowse (Southampton — CM — 86)In another week that makes you go “eh?” with a shoulder shrug, we plumped for Ward-Prowse. The man who can somehow make set-piece routines from open-play is just our vibe: slow and technically incompetent, but with high passing so we don’t care. At 26k on the market, I don’t think this will kill you for a laugh. Honestly, though, just save your coins for some of the Future Stars listed below. We love the look of Mr Emile-Smith Rowe, who has frankly been making us all kinds of dribbly with his real-life footballing this year. I don’t know that anyone reads this, so I’m just going to go on a tangent — did anyone see that nearly-goal with Saka and Lacazette the other week? Man, if Laca had actually scored that it would have been my favourite goal since that Giroud/Wilshere combination a few years back. Dreamy.
