Samsung is working on new and exciting low-end devices to fit into the A series, and today we have news about the upcoming Galaxy A23 and A23 5G. Let’s start with the former.

The A23, with model number SM-A235F, has been spotted in the Geekbench database, since someone in possession of a prototype apparently decided to put it through the paces. This reveals that the phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 680 chipset (based on the “Motherboard” codename that’s easily identifiable), and at least one version of it will have 4GB of RAM (as does the prototype that’s been tested). Unsurprisingly, it will run Android 12 from day one.

Moving on to the A23 5G, this will instead use the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset, according to a new report which sheds some light on a subset of its specs while also providing the official-looking leaked images you can see above and below.

The Galaxy A23 5G is also said to have an approximately 6.55″ flat display with a waterdrop notch, a quad rear camera setup (50 MP main + 8 MP ultrawide + 2 MP depth + 2 MP macro), a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It’s expected to measure 165.4 x 77 x 8.5 mm (10.3 mm including the camera bump).

The same source claims the non-5G A23 will have a 6.4″ IPS LCD screen with a waterdrop notch. The Galaxy A23 duo is allegedly due to be announced before the end of March.
