Here’s everything that went down on Day 3 of CDL 2022.

The Call of Duty League Major 1 qualifiers continued last night with the third day of matches. Here’s a recap of every map and special moment.

Florida Mutineers 3-1 Paris Legion

The Florida Mutineers began their second qualifying match better than their first, winning 250-200 over Paris Legion. On the small and hectic map of Bocage, Vivid and Skyz dominated, dropping 46 and 37 kills respectively. This kind of performance from Vivid is key to the Mutineers improving this season.

Paris Legion responded by clutching up in a round 11 to tie the series 1-1. After taking a 5-3 lead, Paris ended up being sent to a round 11, but John clutched up and used his experience to tie the match. A tightly contested Gavutu Control resulted in the Mutineers taking a 2-1 lead in the series. The final round came down to just seconds, with Florida capturing A with less than five seconds remaining, and B with less than 20. Skyz was the main factor in this map, continuing his dominance from the first.

The Mutineers secured their first win of the CDL 2022 season through a dominant map four. Here, Owakening woke up, dropping 32 kills and going on multiple streaks during this match to secure the series win.

Atlanta FaZe 3-1 LA Thieves

An incredible start to the series saw the LA Thieves come out on top winning a 250-248 Tuscan Hardpoint. Drazah went head to head with aBeZy, putting up 29 kills compared to aBeZy’s 30. Atlanta FaZe tied the series with a 6-4 win on Desert Siege Search and Destroy. While the Thieves put up a fight, especially with Octane’s sniping. Cellium showed his SnD prowess as usual, dropping 10 kills and dominating the map.

Atlanta FaZe took a 2-1 series lead following a dominant 3-0 Tuscan Control win. While FaZe played their defence extremely well, their offensive win was gifted to them by the Thieves due to them pushing too far up the map, and leaving an open route to the B point. The series was closed out by FaZe in a just as dominant Bocage Hardpoint. The Thieves suffered here, with Kenny going double negative. However, this is just a showing of how good FaZe really can be this season.

Minnesota ROKKR 3-2 OpTic Texas

OpTic Texas came out hot on Tuscan Hardpoint, with the young duo of Shotzzy and iLLeY going a combined 60-33 in map one. With solid rotations and multiple streaks, OpTic looked great and headed into the SnD with confidence. However, all OpTic momentum was lost when Minnesota rokked them in with a 6-1 SnD win. Standy and MajorManiak both put up 7-3 performances, seeing ROKKR tie the series.

OpTic regained the lead through a 3-2 clutch Control win. While the kills were evenly shared between the teams, OpTic’s teamwork prevailed and led them to a 2-1 series lead and a chance to close out the map. ROKKR responded in map four, winning an extremely close 250-244 Berlin Hardpoint. This included a lot of clutches from Minnesota, which they eventually brought into the Map 5, winning that in a round 11 to secure the series.

This sees OpTic Texas go 0-2 in week one, and look cut off from the pack at the start of this season.
