Developer Certain Affinity is supposedly working on a “newcomer-friendly” multiplayer game mode for Halo Infinite, according to a new report. As per a new report from Windows Central, Certain Affinity, which has previously supported development on various Halo and Call of Duty titles, is currently working on a new multiplayer mode for Halo Infinite. The mode is supposedly codenamed ‘Tatanka,’ and according to the report, “is designed to be a more ‘newcomer-friendly’ experience that isn’t as demanding competitively than existing multiplayer modes, Big Team Battle and Arena.” The developers reportedly intend to pull in new players with the mode who aren’t necessarily interested in Halo. The report notes the new mode will tie in with Halo Infinite’s upcoming Forge Mode, with player-created content factoring into the experience. It also could feature its own new progression system on top of Halo Infinite’s existing multiplayer progression system. Certain Affinity has worked closely with Microsoft on the Halo franchise for years now, so it wouldn’t be something out of the ordinary for the studio to continue down that path. Another rumour suggests the developer is working on a Monster Hunter-style Xbox exclusive, which, if true, means the studio would have a lot on its plate. What do you make of this “newcomer-friendly” mode for Halo Infinite? Give us your thoughts down in the comments.
