Phones with bendable displays are all the craze lately and it’s no surprise that major manufacturers are jumping on the bandwagon. Even vivo plans to release a foldable handset until the end of this year, or at least that’s what some reports are saying. The latest evidence comes from the Chinese trademark office.
On May 24, vivo has trademarked not one but three NEX devices – NEX Slide, NEX Fold and NEX Roll. Their names are pretty self-explanatory, but the new bit is that the new form factor handsets will exist under the NEX branding.
Which in turn makes sense given the history of the NEX lineup. Vivo has used the latter to release experimental smartphones with unusual form factors. Sadly, there’s not much to it than just the names, so we would have to wait before we get a look at the specs or design of any of the phones above.
