Gui Barbosa, TikTok’s Gaming Partnership Leader in Latin America, explained in the announcement that its partnership with the NFA are aligned with the platform’s expansion plans.

Barbosa said: “We are actively seeking opportunities to bring incredible content to engage our large gamer audience. Broadcasting the NFA League finals, the main Free Fire emulator championship, reinforces our objective to increasingly invest in this audience.”

Free Fire has steadily become one of Brazil’s most popular games over the last 12 months. According to Esports Charts, Liga NFA Season 4 recorded a peak viewership of 558,414.

Daniela Branco, Marketing Director of NFA, added: “TikTok is one of the fastest-growing short video apps in the world today. This partnership happens at the best moment for both brands! There are many opportunities to explore and build audiences on the platform, developing more relevant content to connect with the brand’s fans. They are our engine.

“We are born out of the community and we need to go where the community is. This partnership offers broader and more digital presence content options. We are the first Free Fire championship to be broadcast on TikTok, this is a global achievement and it is what our community deserves. Pioneering is in the brand’s DNA and this time it would be no different. We Make It Happen!”

Esports Insider says: Liga NFA is a huge Free Fire tournament in Brazil. As such, it’s only natural for TikTok to embrace the event and become a broadcast partner, especially if esports interaction is a big part of the platform’s plans.
