In a new video shown during Taipei Game Show 2022, FromSoftware’s Yasuhiro Kitao confirmed that Elden Ring had gone gold and that the action-RPG will take around 30 hours to beat. During the presentation (thanks, Gematsu), Kitao revealed that the ‘master’ version of Elden Ring had been submitted for approval. However, work isn’t quite finished on the game, and FromSoftware is currently working on a day one patch to “make sure everything in the game is just so.”A few more details and unseen footage of the game was also shown during the presentation, including how long it will take players to beat the game. Kitao says the estimate “will differ significantly by player” but “the idea is that the main route should be able to be completed within around 30 hours.” Kitao continued: “The game as a whole is quite massive and contains many dozens more hours’ worth of gameplay, but if we are talking about the main route only, it shouldn’t take much longer than that.” Of course, in terms of completing the game from an achievement standpoint, we won’t know how long that will take until players start getting hands-on with the game and its achievement list. The developer was also asked about Elden Ring’s replayability, where he confirmed that, much like in previous FromSoftware games, you will be able to carry across your character data and play through the game again with powered-up enemies, and that the game has been designed so it can be finished without necessarily experiencing everything it has to offer. “With the world being so vast, the game is designed so that it can be cleared without necessarily experiencing everything,” Kitao said. “Some players will prefer to try and explore the entire map the first time while others will leave some areas for exploration in second or subsequent cycles.” Kitao also said that you can’t 100% Elden Ring in a single playthrough “due to the fact there are branching points near the end.”Elden Ring launches for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 and PC on February 25th.
