A quick recap of everything from Day 1 of the Kickoff Classic

The 2022 Call of Duty League got underway yesterday with Day 1 of the Kickoff Classic. Here’s all the results, and standout moments from the first four matches.

Florida Mutineers 3-1 Los Angeles Guerrillas

The Florida Mutineers began the series on the front foot with an exceptionally close 250-246 Bocage Hardpoint victory. Skyz dominated with the SMG, dropping 45 kills and going big to close out the map. The Mutineers continued this momentum into map two, taking Berlin SnD 6-4 and shocking most of the CDL community.

The Los Angeles Guerrillas replied in map three reverse sweeping the Control, and beginning a possible reverse sweep of the series. Asim dominated with 40 kills, while Owakening’s 41 wasn’t enough to close out the series for the Mutineers. However, Florida closed out the series in the fourth map. Winning two Hardpoints and securing their first win of the 2022 season.

Seattle Surge 3-0 London Royal Ravens

There isn’t much to cover in this match as it was a completely dominant performance from Seattle Surge. Mack was their star player in this series, putting up a 1.24 overall K/D, with a 1.31 in Hardpoint, and 1.57 in Search and Destroy. Seattle looked great, and could be a dark horse this season.

New York Subliners 3-2 Boston Breach

The new kids on the block took on the New York Subliners in their first match of their CDL career. While Boston were by no means dominated, Crimsix made it extremely hard for them with his 1.26 overall K/D and series high 117 kills. However, there was promise here from Boston, and with Capsidal stepping it up in map four, Boston could have a great opportunity come the start of the season.

Los Angeles Thieves 3-1 Paris Legion

LA Thieves kicked off their season with an exceptional display from Kenny against Paris Legion. While they were expected to win, Kenny put up a 1.21 overall K/D, balancing out the team due to Drazah’s poor 0.78 K/D performance. The Thieves were outslayed heavily in map one, however they pulled through and got off to a great start. While they were defeated in the Control, Thieves took the series 3-1 and move on to face OpTic Texas in day two.
