The Jennings Aeronautics/UAV Factory platform is seeking a Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to lead the integration, strategy, and direction of HR across the company. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the CHRO will lead the HR team and drive strategic HR initiatives across all divisions of Jennings Aeronautics/UAV Factory. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, strong communicator and forward-thinking leader with a customer service mindset. The position will be based out of the San Luis Obispo, CA or DC Metro area with flexible telecommuting offered.
What you will do:
Lead the Human Resources team supporting a geographically dispersed (CONUS and OCONUS) employee group within the platform in the areas of employee relations, employee engagement, learning & development, legal compliance, measuring and reporting, performance management, HR strategic initiatives, compensation, etc.Ensure policies, procedures and HR programs are consistently administered, aligned with organizational goals, and in compliance with professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements and employment lawsServe as the primary point of contact on HR-related matters for Jennings/UAV Factory leadership and corporate teamDevelop and implement KPIs for periodic analysis and presentation to leadershipFunction as a strategic business advisor to the executive and senior management on all employee relations matterProvide leadership and direction to the HR team across the platformProvide leaders and employees with coaching, consultation, and guidance on the effective management of people, structure, resourcing, and relationshipsParticipate in proposal development and reviews, as needed, and provide compensation data support for proposalsParticipate in due diligence for company mergers and acquisitions.Assist leaders and employees at all levels with developing and consistently demonstrating effective communication and conflict managementCollaborate with the HR team across Jennings/UAV Factory to foster partnerships with management to support and develop culture, increase morale, motivate employees, and assist in driving key corporate HR initiatives across the companyCommunicate changes in the organization’s HR policies and procedures and ensures that proper compliance is followedLead HR Strategic initiatives and/or projects in collaboration with leadership and stakeholdersManage the annual performance review program ensuring goal/expectation consistency among all managersAssists in implementation, administration and oversight of the organization’s compensation program and policyRecommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performedEnsure compliance with company policies and procedures and applicable federal and state employment and hiring laws and regulationsManage the human resources department budgetOversight of all benefit plans across the platformOversee HR team’s utilization of Payroll and HRIS systems to include new hire data, employee information, benefit plan management, reports for leadership, etc.Performs other duties as assigned
What you must have:
At least 15 years of directly relevant HR experience, to include increasing levels of responsibilityAt least 10 years of managing a team of HR professionals in support of both commercial and government contractor organizationsDemonstrated experience leading the implementation and/or direction of compensation structure, strategy, and policySignificant experience and demonstrated success leading strategic HR initiatives and projectsExperience with HR and Payroll softwareKnowledge of U.S. Federal and state labor lawsSelf-motivated and effective working with minimal supervisionExceptional attention to detail, organizational, problem solving and analytic skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to properly handle confidential information and exercise good judgment and discretion in handling and disseminating information ABAbility to multi-task and prioritize jobs in a fast-paced environment; ability to meet hard deadlinesAbility to interact with employees at all levels of the organization in an articulate, clear, and concise mannerProficient in Microsoft Office; specifically Excel and Word
