Worried that your gaming space isn’t smelling as heavenly as you’d like? This scented AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT from Yeston might be the answer. You can mask the stench of defeat (or victory) and instead enjoy a “fragrance experience” that will boost your mood while the 9070 XT works to boost frame rates during those hard-fought gaming sessions.
AMD has stormed to a surprising lead with the RX 9070 XT, which is now the best graphics card for most gamers to buy. It’s a GPU that gets the balance right between performance and cost, but don’t expect to smell roses from every graphics card out there, as GPU air fresheners are unlikely to be a gaming fad that enters into the mainstream.
The Yeston Radeon RX 9070 XT Sakura Atlantis card was put to the test by the Gamers Nexus YouTube channel. In their video, the colorful card was thoroughly benchmarked, but with an extra test compared to the usual runthrough – a smell test.
This card has a hidden scent module, a feature that Yeston doesn’t actively mention on the card’s product page. Testing out the scent response with a number of the YouTube channel’s team, the card is described as having a scent similar to a car air freshener or a mall perfume stand freebie.
Unfortunately, gaining access to the module means tearing your graphics card apart, which would suggest that it isn’t intended to be user replaceable. The gimmick is certainly a nice and rather unique addition to a graphics card, but it won’t last forever, leaving your colorful card smelling just like every other gaming PC out there. There’s no information to show how long the module will last, either.
Thankfully, the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT is a GPU that doesn’t need to rely on gimmicks to be a winner. You can check out our RX 9070 XT review to see why we’re recommending it to the average gamer.
