Virtual pet game maker Neopets has surpassed 400,000 monthly active users (MAUs)after garnering nearly 250,000 Daily active users (DAUs).
As reported by VentureBeat, the game maker’s revival gained momentum in 2024, when it recorded its highest numbers in the past decade, viewing it as the start of its community-driven revival.
Neopets boasts over 150 million players worldwide and is making a comeback under new management. Its revival includes two new mobile games, Tales of Dacardia and Faerie Fragments. The brand has relaunched 100+ classic mini-games since CEO Dominic Law took over in July 2023.
Start of a new journey
“2024 is the beginning of our transformative journey to revive Neopets,” said Law. “For the first time in a decade, we’re seeing meaningful growth in our player base, and the support from our fans has been greatly appreciated.”
“We have been laying the groundwork for a much stronger Neopia – one that is reflective of what our players love about Neopets. There’s still a lot of work cut out for us and we’re very excited to have the tremendous support of our community.”
Last year, Neopets partnered with over 30 companies to create experiences that connect fans both online and offline. The brand said its revival centres on engaging its community while attracting new audiences and providing experiences that connect players across generations.
