The M6 World Championship, the largest tournament in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) esports calendar, has recorded over 4m peak viewers.
According to data and analytics platform Esports Charts, M6 peaked at 4.13m viewers and recorded an average viewership of 709,000 across its 120-hour air-time.
The M series of tournaments (next year’s will be M7) are the largest in MLBB and serve as the season-ending world championship for all of the game’s competitive regions. The tournaments have been very popular ever since their creation, recording millions of peak viewers for every edition. The most popular edition was last year’s M5 World Championship.
Compared to M5, M6 did record around 900,000 less in terms of peak viewership. However, other metrics did increase.
Average viewership jumped from 475,000 in M5 to 709,000 at M6, a substantial increase. M6 also had the highest-ever amount of hours watched, with 86.5m. Last year’s tournament saw 72.1m hours watched. It’s also interesting to note that the 2024 event had around 30 hours less air time.
This year’s event was ultimately won by Fnatic ONIC Philippines, with the team beating Team Liquid Indonesia in the Grand Finals. Some of the event’s commercial partners included ASUS ROG and jewellery brand Fairrie.
Looking globally, Mobile Legends’ M6 event was the second most-watched tournament of the year after the League of Legends World Championship. Worlds had almost 7m peak viewers.
Interestingly, the third-place event of the year is another MLBB event: MPL Indonesia Season 14, which concluded in October with just over 4m peak viewers.
