Pokémon TCG Pocket is gearing up for a major expansion called the Mythical Island. It’s launching on December 17th and bringing new and unique card illustrations featuring a bunch of new Pokémon. So, here’s what we know about it!
Mythical Island Is Bringing a Little Psychic Bundle of Joy to Pokémon TCG Pocket
Yes, it’s Mew sliding into the Mythical Island set, bringing its classic mystical flair. Not to be outdone, Celebi is on board as well. And with prehistoric power moves and primeval swagger, Aerodactyl ex, the dino bird, is joining, too.
There are more than 80 cards in the Mythical Island expansion, including five new Pokémon ex cards and five new Trainer cards. You’ll also get some stunning immersive cards which will pull you right into the world of Pokémon.
Booster packs and the Wonder Pick feature will let you chase down the new cards once the Mythical Island expansion drops in Pokémon TCG Pocket. So, yeah, I’m sure you’re pretty excited to see the new Mythical Pokémon shimmer.
The Mythical Island scenery isn’t just confined to the cards, either. You’ll be getting some fresh binder and display board covers decked out in the island’s magical vibes. On that note, catch a glimpse of the expansion right below!

It’s Coming Soon!
If you’re already thinking ahead, there’s more fun lined up. Starting December 24th, Pokémon TCG Pocket is kicking off a holiday countdown campaign. Trainers will get free in-game goodies just for logging in during the campaign.
Just after 7 weeks of its launch, Pokémon TCG Pocket has already seen 60 million downloads on mobile. Created by The Pokémon Company, Creatures Inc. (the team behind the original Pokémon TCG) and DeNA, the game is free to play.
