Grace Slugfish Guide
Now let’s talk about this entity.
About Slugfish
Slugfish, despite its name, it’s all that fish-like. It’s not even that slug-like. Slugfish is a huge worm-like entity that races through the corridor at high speed, catching anything that stands in its way. Its arrival is warned by a flash of black and white static, followed by white tentacles on the corner of the screen. Moments after this tell, Slugfish will charge through the room from the door behind the player toward the door in front. If you’re in its path, that’s it for you.
How To Survive
While its method of attack is similar to Carnation, avoiding Slugfish is actually much simpler. Slugfish doesn’t fill the whole hallway, only the center. So, when warned of its approach, all you need to do is step to the side and hug the corridor wall. The big worm should rush right past. Beware though, while it’s simpler to handle than Carnation, Slugfish is MUCH faster and you do not have long to move out of the way, so don’t think you can delay until you’re done with something else. Move to the side immediately. Stay there until Slugfish passes.
Slugfish Tips
A few other useful pointers for dealing with this guy.
- Colors are key. Remembering which color matches which monster’s tells is important. Slugfish’s colours are white and black. Carnation’s colors are pink and black. Elkman’s colors are grey and black.
- Slugfish does not spawn until Floor 3, regardless of how many times you’ve played, so any static before then will by Carnation.
- Slugfish’s body does not have a killbox, so in theory you can move once the head has passed.
- Slugfish passes through walls rather than along the player’s path, so don’t worry about hiding next to crawlspaces. As long as you’re against the wall, you should be fine.
