Screenshots purportedly from Bend Studio‘s unannounced new game have been leaked, and fans aren’t exactly ecstatic to see them. From what we’ve seen, the upcoming title will be games-as-a-service (GaaS) third-person shooter, or will have some live service elements, at the very least.
What leaked screenshots tell us about Bend Studio’s new game
The screenshots were discovered by folks over at MP1st in an online portfolio of a UI designer, whose identity the website has chosen not to disclose. We won’t host the images here (they can be viewed in the original article), but here’s a quick rundown of what we’ve seen.
The game will feature ranks, crafting, an XP system, and possibly character customization as there is a section dedicated to “wardrobe.” Some of the weapons suggest that Bend Studio is working on a military-themed shooter. There’s also a section called ‘Hub Director,’ which could be a placeholder for an in-game hub.
Interestingly, one of the screenshots seem to be using a placeholder from Days Gone, which makes us wonder if the shooter will be set in the single-player game’s universe. MP1st also spotted the mention of ‘nanites’ in one of the UI screens, suggesting that the shooter will feature emerging/futuristic technology.
Fans are already expressing their concerns since Bend Studio isn’t exactly known for GaaS, and the Concord disaster is still fresh. Others have expressed their disappointment because they were hoping for a single-player game.
