Medieval storefront simulator Potion Craft gets massive free update

Potion Craft: Alchemy Simulator has a great premise. Rather than focus on the medieval battles or town and country management seen in games like Manor Lords, Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord, or Crusader Kings 3, Potion Craft takes a more intimate — and slightly fanciful — look at one particular aspect of the past: Managing an alchemy shop. And now, despite having launched almost two years ago, it’s just received a massive free update that adds in new modes and features meant to provide even more expansive options for making and selling potions.

Potion Craft: Alchemy Simulator is a crafting game where players assume the role of a potion shopkeeper. Through a visual style inspired, like Pentiment, by illuminated manuscripts, the game involves discovering and completing recipes that involve hands-on crafting. After boiling liquids, grinding ingredients, and mixing items together, the result is bottled up for sale. Keeping the shop running involves meeting and assisting a cast of colorful characters as well as growing or buying new ingredients.

The new Enchanted Garden 2.0 update expands on each aspect of the game. It adds in new garden sections, such as a cave and pond, overhauls and further fleshes out the ‘Talents’ progression system, and provides a new ‘Wine Map’ centered on alcohol-based recipes. Potion Craft has also added new characters, a ‘Build Mode’ for redesigning and decorating the setting, a range of difficulty options, and general balance changes.

Potion Craft: Alchemy Simulator’s 2.0 Enchanted Garden update is available for free and out now. Grab a copy of the game on Steam right here.
