Marvel Rivals will be out and on all major platforms a week and a day from time of writing, so it’s a good thing that developer NetEase Games announced that the game has “gone gold” on Thursday. It’s definitely a short lead-time from a game being announced as “gold” to its launch, since usually this announcement happens about a month or more before the release date, and then the team continues working on the day one patch. But Marvel Rivals is a multiplayer game that is entirely an online matchmaking experience, not a single-player premium release that needs to be a level of ‘content complete’ before being released. It might even be that on Thursday the Rivals team finished the final piece cosmetic piece that’ll be sold as a launch micro-transaction, which is probably about as ‘gold’ as a live service game is going to get before its launch.Regardless, it sounds like Marvel Rivals is ready to go.Source – [NetEase]
