Fisch Lantern Keeper Guide
The Lantern Keeper is a somewhat mysterious NPC who resides in Moosewood. He wears black overalls and has a glowing halo above his head. He stands behind or near the lighthouse, and while some players have reported spotting him during the day, he normally shows up at night.
When speaking to him, his dialogue can be a little all over the place. Sentences are broken up and don’t make much sense. However, he will offer you a lantern in exchange for 1,000C$. If you purchase one, it will attach to your waist and provide light.
Keep in mind that the one you get is random. There are 11 altogether, with a 1/10 chance to get each. There is a 1/50 chance to get the Fairy Lantern, which is the rarest. If you decide to buy another lantern, you will lose the one you currently have.
Is Buying A Lantern Worth It?
So, is the 1,000C$ worth it? Yes! Areas such as Vertigo, The Depths, Desolate Deep, and diving underwater for Treasure Chests can all be tricky to see because they are so dark. With a lantern, you’ll get some additional light surrounding you to help you see better. 1,000C$ isn’t too expensive either, and you can easily make that when selling fish to the Merchant. Not to mention, it’s stylish! Having a lantern equipped is a fun accessory to add to your character.
