With only a few days left, you might panic wondering how to obtain the Fisch Ancient Serpent Skull. Thankfully, this guide helps you secure one thanks to me becoming a total Fisch sweat who completed the event within 24 hours of its launch… Well, that wasn’t the flex I’d hoped it’d be.

Fisch Ancient Serpent Skull Guide
The Ancient Serpent Skull is one of two Mythic Fossils released temporarily for the Archaeologist’s discovery event. When speaking to Dr Finneus, he will present you with a new bestiary to complete before the Ancient Isles update. Despite its name, the Ancient Serpent Skull isn’t a find from The Depths where the living relative Ancient Depth Serpent resides.
Instead, for the Ancient Serpent Skull (and Ancient Serpent Spine) you’ll need to sail out to the pirate island namely Forsaken Shores. Here, both Mythic Fossils lie just beneath the surface of the water. When hunting for my own, I found two just off the docks of the island and inside the pond.
How To Catch Mythic Fossils
Fortunately, since they’re not alive… anymore… Fossils of any rarity are easy to catch. They don’t move around the bar, so high resilience isn’t necessary. However, like a double-edged sword, this also means that this non-living catch has no preferences and encountering them is down to RNG luck.
Season, weather, time and bait have no impact on when you’ll snag an Ancient Serpent Skull, so I’d recommend taking your luckiest rod and playing the long game. When snagged, the exclamation mark above your head flashes pink as it does with all Mythic catches. During the catch minigame, the Skull inflicts a -20% progress speed.
Once caught, they automatically become a discovery in the limited Arceologocial Site bestiary for Dr Finneus. Unless you want to hoard them for limited catch flex purposes, the skulls sell for 600-1,000 C$ depending on weight.
