How do you get the Fisch Lunar Mutation? Well, you need to wait for a certain event to occur, and then you need to catch a Lunar fish to get a special bonus!

Fisch Lunar Mutation
The Lunar Mutation, as with the others, increases the selling value of a fish. By heading to a Merchant NPC and asking to sell a fish with the Lunar Mutation, you earn 2.5x more coins or 150% to be more precise.
Moonlit Bonus
Upon reeling in a Lunar fish, you get the ‘Moonlit Bonus’. With this, your next catch’s weight and selling value gets a 5% buff. If the fish is already quite heavy, this 5% makes a difference to the overall value, increasing your income. Hey, if you get a double mutation, such as Big or Giant with a Lunar fish, it’s even better.
If you’re lucky enough to catch fish with the Lunar Mutation one after another, the Moonlit Bonus buff stacks. This is quite rare though, but is more likely to occur during a Moonlit Mirage, which I’ll go into more detail about below.
Moonlit Mirage
It’s important to remember that you cannot reel in fish with the Lunar Mutation outside of the Moonlit Mirage event. This event must be active for Lunar fish to spawn, but there are no ways to start the Moonlit Mirage yourself.
Instead, you need to patiently wait for it to randomly activate as you play. Yes, you can server-hop in hopes that a Moonlit Mirage event is occurring, but where’s the fun in that? Once the event begins, a message pops up on your screen, and the sky turns a dark shade of purple. As with the other events, this one lasts around 10 minutes.
While you can get fish with the Lunar Mutation by using Crab Cages, they will not receive the Moonlit Bonus. If you want the boost to a catch’s weight and value, you need to stick to fishing in the waters with your rod.
