One of the best Assassin’s Creed games ever released, Syndicate, has received a small but greatly appreciated update that lets the open-world action game run at 60FPS on current-gen consoles.
On November 18, Ubisoft announced that 2015’s Assassin’s Creed Syndicate had received a new update. However, this small patch didn’t add some new area to the game, fix a bunch of old bugs, add a bonus weapon, or anything like that. Instead, Ubisoft’s new update for Syndicate lets you play the Assassin’s Creed sequel at 60 FPS on PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.
“Revisit the Assassin fantasy and take down your enemies more smoothly than ever [with] Assassin’s Creed Syndicate’s free 60 FPS patch. Roam London’s streets in a whole new light and elevate your gaming experience with doubled framerate on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PS5 Pro,” said Ubisoft in a post announcing the patch.
It’s nice to see Ubisoft going back and updating an older, but still excellent game, letting us take advantage of the more powerful current-gen consoles that we have today. Even better, on Xbox Series X, PS5, and PS5 Pro you can play Assassin’s Creed Syndicate in 4K resolution at 60 FPS. Xbox Series S only runs at 1080p, but still gets a 60 FPS boost, too.
It’s ironic to see Syndicate—a very good Assassin’s Creed game with a wonderful map and one of the best endings in the franchise—receive a PS5 patch that makes it run better on Sony’s console. Back in 2020, shortly after the PS5 originally launched, Syndicate was one of a handful of games that didn’t work properly on the console via backward compatibility. Now, it’s one of the best ways to play the open-world London murder simulator. Funny how things work, huh?
