Black Ops 6 events explained

Nov 18, 2024

What are the Black Ops 6 events? If you’re on the hunt for even more cosmetic goodies and unlockable weapons in BO6, you’re in luck. Black Ops 6 has brought back limited-time, seasonal events that reward you handsomely for completing various challenges.

As of Black Ops 6 Season 1, there’s only one event to speak of for now. However, Treyarch has already confirmed more Black Ops 6 events are on the way with December’s mid-season update for the FPS game – Zombies enjoyers, you’re not being left out of the fun, either. So, polish off your best BO6 loadouts, get out onto the BO6 maps, and start racking up those rewards.

Black Ops 6 events: a look at the Hit List event

Hit List Black Ops 6 event

The first Black Ops 6 event is Hit List, which goes live on Thursday, November 21, 2024. The date was confirmed by an in-game teaser viewable in the BO6 multiplayer ‘Events’ tab.

Hit List requires you to complete contracts by taking down high-value targets. New rewards will become available as you blitz through the catalog of undesirables, including weapons and attachments.

The Hit List rewards include:

  • Power Drill (Melee)
  • Sirin 9mm (Secondary)
  • Buffer Weight Stock (Attachment)
  • Burst Fire Conversion (XM4-exclusive Attachment)
  • Burst Fire Conversion (Kompakt 92-exclusive Attachment)

Though we’d expect a big drill to the skull would be a one-and-done type deal, the Power Drill will take down enemies in two hits. The good news is that it’s very fast, so getting that double-tap in won’t take long.

Black Ops 6 events: the Sirin 9mm

Black Ops 6 is adding a new ‘Special’ category to its secondary weapons section in Season 1, and the Sirin 9mm is its inaugural inductee. Sporting a 32-round mag and SMG-like performance off the rip, the Sirin could very well remove the need to default to Overkill in sniper builds. It does have a bit of a kick, but its attachments can help with that. You can also extend its magazine size to 40.

On the attachment front, the Buffer Weight Stock is a heavy set piece of gear that will improve recoil control at the cost of ADS and aim walk movement speed. However, if you’re using the XM4, XMG, or DM-10 – the three weapons you can equip the stock to – more laser beam potential is typically too good to pass up.

Burst fire kits are either completely busted or a total hindrance depending on the output of their target weapon. The best AEK-973 loadout is already doing well for us out in the field, so we’re not too sure how well the XM4 and Kompakt 92 will perform when shifted into a three-round burst configuration.

Upcoming Black Ops 6 events

Though the devs have yet to confirm exactly how the mid-season events will materialize, they have confirmed when Season 1 Reloaded rolls around, we can “expect multiple events to look forward to – including one focused on Zombies – during the latter half of the season.”

What’s more, we already know some of the weapons that can be unlocked through the mid-season events:

  • Maelstrom (Shotgun)
  • AMR Mod 4 (Sniper Rifle)
  • Cleaver (Melee)

Black Ops 6 events: the Maelstrom

If you’re feeling particularly trigger-happy and the current selection of shotguns isn’t doing it for you, then the Maelstrom will quickly become your best friend. Sporting a ten-round mag and a rapid, full auto-firing mechanism, the fun factor is off the scale here – though its high recoil and hip spread may prove problematic if not kitted out properly. It promises good range and handling, though we’d still rather pair a shotgun with something like the best AS Val loadout for longer-range engagements.

Black Ops 6 events: the AMR Mod 4

Speaking of long-range engagements, we have a bit of a beast on our hands if the AMR Mod 4 does what it claims. Advertised as a one-shot kill to the torso, arms, hands, and upper legs, you’re almost guaranteed to secure the kill as long as you’re not aiming at their toes. It does have a lot of recoil and a slow rate of fire, but that’s an expected trade-off for this kind of power.

Black Ops 6 events: a sharp, curved cleaver

Finally, if the Power Drill is taking too long to get the job done with, then the more conventional Cleaver will carve up your target in a single swipe. It’s not as quick to hit as the drill, but those ethereal reflexes should kick in if you were a butcher in your past life. Interestingly, the image has a Warzone watermark in the bottom-left corner, indicating there should be a dedicated event for the mode en route.
