Server optimisation platform ExitLag has been announced as the official naming sponsor of Riot Games’ collegiate project, UNIVERSITY Esports NA.
As the naming sponsor, the brand will be visible both on broadcast and in person at Collegiate LoL and VALORANT competitions during the 2024/25 season of UNIVERSITY Esports NA.
ExitLag is a server-optimisation platform that uses AI to optimise server connections for esports players globally. The platform aims to give players an advantage in competitive play by optimising data routing, which boosts server ping connection.
As part of the deal with UNIVERSITY Esports NA, ExitLag will host five face-to-face activations on different university campuses to let students know the benefits of it’s server-optimisation platform. These events will involve students, professors and the university community in general. Moreover, ExitLag will have a strong presence as a sponsor in the broadcasts for the North American CLOL and CVAL Fall Warmup Tournament.
The collaboration will also result in participating UNIVERSITY Esports students receiving discounts, gifts and promotions on the ExitLag platform.
University Esports NA is collegiate esports programme by League of Legends developer Riot Games that focuses on hosting VALORANT and League of Legends tournaments for participating universities. At the time of writing, UNIVERSITY Esports claims to have over 2000 participating universities and 600,000 players across EMEA, Latin America, Canada and the USA.
In July 2023, Riot Games announced a three-year collegiate partnership with GGTech Entertainment for its North American ecosystem. This has allowed GGTech to engage in CVAL (College Valorant) and CLOL (College League of Legends) tournaments as Riot’s official provider of it’s North American collegiate programme.
In a release, Lucas Stolze, CEO of ExitLag, commented: “Partnering with UNIVERSITY Esports NA aligns with our strategic vision to expand in the North American market as well as to expand ExitLag’s footprint in the gaming industry. We believe that sponsoring young talent and the collegiate scene is a way for us to foment further growth of gaming and create the same level of passion for e-sports that the public has for regular sports.
“This collaboration is a key step in our mission to enhance the competitive experience of gamers and demonstrate the value of our technology to the industry. We are really excited to see the next steps of this partnership played out.”
