Metro: Awakening VR arrived on PS VR2 last week, and it immediately shot up the list for ‘must-play games on PS VR2.’ In our review, we said “Metro Awakening is rich with atmosphere, strong performances, and tight gameplay that makes it one of the best survival horror games in the genre.”However one thing that did sour our reviewers experience a tad (and that of plenty others) was the spiders, and the lack of an Arachnophobia mode.Thankfully developer Vertigo Games made it clear that an Arachnophobia mode was coming, and it’s officially here with the game’s latest update.“We’ve just rolled out a new hotfix for Metro Awakening on all platforms addressing community feedback on 2 handed weapons, left handed locomotion + Arachnophobia Mode,” the studio posted on the game’s official Twitter account.Rather than turn the spiders into low-poly versions or give them a less-terrifying re-design, when turned on from the menu the Arachnophobia mode simply takes all spiders out of the game, so you don’t deal with them at all. Though it’s still unclear if the sections that feature spiders will feature the other monsters that stalk the Moscow Metro. You can check out the full patch notes for the update below.Metro: Awakening VR Update 0.2 Patch NotesArachnophobia Mode: Added a new setting in the Menu to remove all spiders entirelyAdded an option to switch locomotion movement controls to the left handAdded support for Valve Index knuckles controllers finger trackingAdded a warning screen when enabling the spectator screen to inform players about potential performance impactsAdjusted anti-aliasing setting options orderingFixed an issue where two-handed weapons jittered while movingFixed a bug where players were sometimes put back at the start of a chapter after dyingFixed an issue where sometimes all audio was lost after dyingRe-enabled the option to turn on/off tutorialsRenamed Fog menu setting to Post ProcessingEnabled volumetric fog on Medium quality settingsSource – [Vertigo Games]
