The complete official list of PS5 Pro specs has leaked, thanks to some customers getting their consoles early. In addition to confirming its power supply wattage and GPU teraflops, leaks have revealed that the PS5 Pro allows capturing screenshots in 8K.
What we know about PS5 Pro specs thus far
Documentation that accompanies the PS5 Pro (via Reddit) lists its power supply as 390W, which is 40W above the launch PS5’s power supply of 350W. To add more context to this, the base PS5 consumed an estimated 200W when running intensive games. The PS5 Pro is expected to consume around 240W-260W when under heavy load.
This has led some users to speculate that PS5 Pro’s system-on-a-chip is fabbed on 6nm rather than the rumored 4nm. What this means in terms of PS5 Pro’s power consumption remains to be seen. However, a teardown video has revealed that the PS5 Pro comes with a smaller fan, so it possibly runs quieter and cooler than the base PS5.
We’ve also learned that the PS5 Pro’s GPU is 16.7 teraflops, and it comes with an additional 2GB of DDR5 RAM, which presumably frees up VRAM for developers — something the PS4 Pro did as well.
Last but not least, PS5 Pro has a system level option that allows players to take screenshots in 8K in games that support it, indicating that support might be expanded to more games in the future.
