RatchRet & Clank: Rift Apart is one of the many games PlayStation promised would be ready to go for the launch of the PS5 Pro, meaning it would be a PS5 Pro Enhanced title, with new graphics modes and features available for those diving into the PS5 Pro from day one. Now, it’s officially ready for November 14th with the latest update Insomniac Games just pushed and released the patch notes for.Update 1.005.000 pretty much includes nothing beyond compatibility for the PS5 Pro, so that when players boot it up on their new consoles, these modes and features will be ready. Though like most patches, it also includes a few bug fixes. The two new graphics modes are Performance Pro, – which’ll be the default mode selected when you start up the game on your PS5 Pro – and Fidelity Pro.Performance Pro will target 60FPS, but thanks to the extra power in the Pro will do so with all ray-tracing features on, and increase the image quality to that of the standard Fidelity mode through PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR).Fidelity Pro will instead target 30FPS, but with new ray-tracing graphical features that Insomniac even calls an “experiment” in its patch notes. You can check out the full patch notes for yourself, below.Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Update 1.005.000 Patch NotesThe New Graphics ModesPerformance Pro (Default for PlayStation 5 Pro) This mode targets a smooth 60 frames per second while retaining the image quality of the standard Fidelity mode through use of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR). All ray-tracing (RT) features are on, including ray-traced reflections, ray-tracing on water, and ray-traced window interiors. This mode is recommended for most players.Fidelity ProThis mode targets 30 frames per second for players who want to experiment with new ray-tracing graphical features. These new features can be tuned individually to reach higher intermediate frame rates, especially when using the “VRR” or “120 Hz Display Mode” options. Pedestrian and traffic density may be increased in some areas, and fine hair detail is increased.New Graphical TogglesRT Reflections: Medium (Performance) / High (Fidelity default)Set the quality level for ray-traced reflections. The “Medium” setting ray-traces at half render resolution, and the “High” setting ray-traces at full render resolution. The “High” setting will also improve smoothness of animation in reflections. Only available in the “Fidelity Pro” graphics mode.RT Ambient Occlusion : Off (Performance) / Medium / High (Fidelity default)Use ray-tracing to compute additional ambient occlusion lighting information. The “Medium” setting uses that information to augment screen-space ambient occlusion. The “High” setting also adds a screen-space GI bounce for additional ambient lighting information. The visual impact of this feature will vary greatly based on the scene.Miscellaneous FixesFixes missing fur wetness in some cinematics on Corson V that was introduced in a previous patchSource – [Insomniac Games]
