The Bridge Curse 2 Review

The horror genre is one of those that can count more games released every year, if we take into account not only AAA games but also AA games and indies. However, these are not always products of a certain quality.

In this The Bridge Curse 2 review, we will tell you everything you need to know about what represents the second chapter of the Taiwanese horror saga that is inspired by a local legend. Will you be brave enough to face this adventure? Are you ready for what awaits you?

Inspired by a Legend

As we have already said, The Bridge Curse 2 takes inspiration from a famous Taiwanese legend. It tells that in Taiwan there is this haunted college, where strange events occur. The game, therefore, like its predecessor, takes inspiration from this legend, trying to leverage this aspect to instill terror in the players.

We have the opportunity to take on the role of different characters who decide to investigate what is said regarding the college in question. Obviously, this does not prove to be a good idea at all. It will not be long before we will have to deal with the ghosts that haunt this place.

In terms of plot, therefore, we can say that, even if it does not seem to be anything original, the developers were able to tell it in a truly engaging way. If you manage not to get scared, you will remain glued to the screen trying to understand what the conclusion of the story is (and see if there is a happy ending or not).

Hide and Seek

The gameplay of The Bridge Curse 2 is the most classic for this type of horror: you will have to explore and hide when the threat presents itself. So, from a gameplay point of view, there are no differences compared to what we saw in the first chapter, the developers have decided to continue along the same lines.

However, this does not mean that it is a bad thing. If something works, why should it be changed? And this is precisely the reasoning that, in all likelihood, the developers of the game also made. Furthermore, it fits perfectly with how the game was developed and the story it wants to tell.

So, expect to take on the role of the protagonists of the game and go around the settings trying to discover what is happening, without being captured by the ghosts that haunt the place. In fact, if you are captured, it will be an instant game over. Consequently, you will have to pay maximum attention and be good at studying the pattern of the enemies to avoid them.

Terrifying Enemies

As you would expect from any horror game par excellence, the enemies that are present in The Bridge Curse 2 are truly terrifying. But one above all has captured our attention (and not only): the Ballerina. It is probably one of the most terrifying enemies that have ever been conceived in a horror game. Not so much for its appearance, but for the lore that hovers around it.

Another important thing to mention, in fact, concerns the lore of the various ghosts that will haunt you during your adventure. None of them is left to chance. They are all well-studied enemies with an excellent story behind them, which makes them even more terrifying.

Finally, we cannot fail to mention the settings of the game. Even though it is a college, the developers were able to best render the atmosphere of terror that surrounds it. Wandering around the classrooms, in the corridors, will certainly give you goosebumps (especially in some moments of the game).

The Bridge Curse 2 Review – 8/10

The Bridge Curse 2 is a great example of horror games with hide and seek mechanics. The plot is very interesting and is told in a way that keeps players glued to the screen for its entire duration (which is not very long, but is absolutely in line with the duration of a horror game of the genre). But what struck us the most is definitely everything about the enemies and their lore.

Ultimately, therefore, we can say that this sequel is a worthy heir to its predecessor and that it takes everything that was good in it to further elevate it. The various character animations that were not excellent in the first chapter have also been improved (although we are not yet at the level of the big productions).

So, if you are looking for a game to play on Halloween or if you are simply fans of the genre, you absolutely cannot miss The Bridge Curse 2.
