Players collecting the Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 achievements will find a new update waiting for them on Xbox. Many players were unhappy with some of the changes made when Space Marine 2’s new Operation mission arrived last week with Patch 4, which made the game more difficult overall, and today’s Space Marine 2 update addresses the controversial changes.Saber removes the Tight Formation mechanic from Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Saber Interactive has rolled out Patch 4.1 for all Space Marine 2 players with a host of balancing tweaks that will hopefully make Operation missions feel less intense. In a new post on the Focus Entertainment forums, Space Marine 2 game director Dmitriy Grigorenko revealed the changes being made in today’s patch. After downloading Patch 4.1, you’ll find that the spawn rate of Extremis enemies on the Minimal, Average, and Substantial difficulties will have returned to their original rates. Ruthless will have a “significantly reduced” spawn rate, although it won’t be as low as the other difficulty levels, and you’ll have 10% more armor on Ruthless too. Grigorenko also says, “Despite the last patch notes listing a decrease in Armor in Substantial difficulty, this change was mistakenly left out of our last update,” so there won’t be any armor changes for Substantial difficulty today. As for Lethal, the hardest difficulty of the lot, it appears that Extremis enemies will continue to spawn at their current rate, but the controversial Tight Formation mechanic that was added with it has been removed. As for other changes made with today’s Patch 4.1, AI teammates will now deal 30% more damage to bosses in Operations, Zoanthropes now have a 10% longer cooldown before swapping shields when they spawn as pairs, and the bug causing shorter roll distances has been squashed. Additionally, all Bolter weapons will do more damage.Auto Bolt Rifle — Damage increased by 20%Bolt Rifle — Damage increased by 10%Heavy Bolt Rifle — Damage increased by 15%Stalker Bolt Rifle — Damage increased by 10%Marksman Bolt Carbine — Damage increased by 10%Instigator Bolt Carbine — Damage increased by 10%Bolt Sniper Rifle — Damage increased by 12.5%Bolt Carbine — Damage increased by 15%Occulus Bolt Carbine — Damage increased by 15%Heavy Bolter — Damage increased by 5%”We want to thank you all for being so involved with the game and making your opinions heard. While we noticed criticism with regards to difficulty adjustments — and rightly so — we’d also like to thank you for your very positive feedback on the new ‘Termination’ map. No matter the feedback, we’re grateful that you feel so passionate about Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2,” Grigorenko said. The key takeaway for me, personally, is that I forgot that once the game comes out, it’s no longer a dev’s game. It’s yours first and foremost.”This is why, moving forward, we’d like to harness this energy by establishing Public Test Servers. They would let you try out major balancing updates and make your voices heard before they are pushed onto public branches. We’re hoping to make these available around early 2025, so stay tuned to our channels for more info.”In other galactic, bug-blasting news, Arrowhead Game Studios has said Phil Spencer and Sony will need to “duke out” a deal if we’re ever to see Helldivers 2 on Xbox.
