Sports, esports and entertainment venue Copper Box Arena has announced a partnership with luxury accommodation and hospitality destination The Stratford Hotel.

As a result of the partnership, Copper Box Arena event organisers and guests will gain access to exclusive accommodation packages at the hotel. Some of the perks mentioned in the packages include discounted room rates and priority booking.

Located in London, UK, Copper Box Arena is a multi-sport venue that was opened in 2011. Whilst most known for its sport and entertainment events, the venue has recently hosted a raft of high-profile esports events.

Last year, Copper Box Arena hosted the League of Legends international tournament MSI, Apex Legends’ Split 2 Playoffs and Call of Duty’s World Series of Warzone 2023 Global Finals. In 2024, the facility also hosted the second Rocket League Championship Series Major

In 2023. Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park — where Copper Box Arena is based — previously highlighted its push to become a destination location for esports and gaming

According to a release, the partnership aims to strengthen East London’s position as a ‘leading destination’ for events.

Given the amount of events that have occurred at Copper Box Arena, the deal somewhat highlights the growing relationship that is developing between the hospitality industry and the esports sector. Next month, Red Bull has announced that it will host an Apex Legends event at the Godfrey Hotel in Chicago, Illinois. Moreover, Counter-Strike series ESL Pro League has utilised The InterContinental Malta for the last two years.

Daniel Le Grange, Head of National Events at GLL, the operator of Copper Box Arena, commented on the partnership: “We’re thrilled to partner with The Stratford Hotel, combining world-class events with luxury hospitality to strengthen the visitor experience at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

“This partnership will allow us to provide our visitors with fantastic hospitality options, improving their overall experience and consolidate Copper Box Arena’s reputation as a top destination for sports, entertainment, and large-scale events.”
