Horror fans don’t have long to wait before they can get their hands on the Phasmophobia achievements! Developer Kinetic Games has now announced a Phasmophobia Xbox release date, confirming that the paranormal hit will launch in early access for Xbox Series X|S on October 29. Phasmophobia coming to Xbox Series X|S in early access on October 29Phasmophobia is a four-player online co-op psychological horror game that has proved a massive success since its early access PC launch back in 2020. Four years later, console players will finally be able to get in on the ghost-hunting action. In Phasmophobia, it’s the job of you and your team to investigate haunted locations filled with otherworldly phenomena. Using a variety of ghost-hunting equipment, such as night vision cameras, EMF readers, and spirit boxes, you will need to find and record evidence to determine which supernatural being is haunting a location. When Phasmophobia does launch in early access for consoles on October 29, it will support full crossplay between Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PS VR2, and Steam, so you’ll be able to buddy up with experienced ghost hunters from the off — during a hands-off preview event, Kinetic Games told us that while the game can be played solo, it is recommended to play with others online. The console version will be largely the same as the PC version, but one feature that won’t be available on consoles at launch is voice recognition, which allows you to speak directly to ghosts using a microphone and have them understand what you’re saying. Instead, you will have text prompts to communicate with ghosts, though if you are playing with a microphone and chatting with others in-game, be aware that those supernatural beings can still hear you. As for the Phasmophobia achievements, during the preview, Kinetic Games did unlock an achievement or two, so we expect the game will support achievements even in early access, much like how the Steam version currently does.
