Fisch Best Rod
In my opinion, the best rods are the ones that give you plenty of Luck and don’t affect your Resilience, or at least don’t reduce the stat by much. However, some rods stand out due to their passive abilities!
Best Rods
The rods I think are the best are subjective, but I have my reasons!
Fungal Rod (Best for early game)
- Complete Agaric’s quest by giving him an Alligator
The Fungal Rod is the best for players in the early game. This is because you have a 70% chance to catch Sprout Spores, which grants you 45 seconds of Luck IV. As you can guess, Luck IV increases your luck for the duration. This is great for newer players who are trying to fill out their Bestiary and make as much money in-game as possible.
Magnet Rod
- Purchase for $15K from the Shipwright NPC on Terrapin Island
While this rod doesn’t increase your luck or really affect any of your other stats, bar the max weight increasing to 10 kg, you have a higher chance of reeling in crates. This applies to any type of crate, but more importantly, it means you’re more likely to obtain the rarer ones, such as Carbon Crates and Quality Bait Crates.
Mythical Rod
- Purchase for $110K from the Travelling Merchant
The passive ability allows you to have a 30% chance of all fish you catch being of the Mythical rarity. Fish this rare have a significantly increased sell value (to be more exact, 4.5x more than the standard value), making it easier and quicker for you to save up in-game cash to purchase new rods, bait, and items.
Plus, your luck is increased by 45% and this rod does not affect your Resilience. Yes, this means the stat isn’t buffed, but that’s better than having it reduced, which makes it more difficult to obtain rare fish.
Nocturnal Rod
- Purchase for $11K from Synth in Vertigo (Abyss)
The main appeal of the Nocturnal Rod is that you can catch nocturnal and diurnal fish at any time of day on the server. Using the Nocturnal rod at nighttime means you can still reel in diurnal fish, and vice versa. While this doesn’t guarantee an increase in money, it does make it easier when filling out your Bestiary or catching fish for quests.
On top of the passive ability, it also increases your luck by 70%. The major downside of the Nocturnal Rod is the fact that it has a 25% reduction of Resilience, making it harder to catch fish on the rarer side.
