What’s new and changed in Fortnitemares Chapter 5? This is what we’ll see develop over the course of the latest event to come to the game.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 is coming to a conclusion, but first, we have a massive update. Fortnitemares 2024. This Halloween-focused event is always a treat but this year’s looks bigger than ever.
While it was supposed to begin a day earlier, Fortnitemares is still launching with a good few weeks to go before the season ends. We’ll have quite a while to play through all of the content and from the looks of it, Epic has a packed schedule planned.
Fortnitemares Chapter 5 will be a celebration of everything that’s frightening in Fortnite. It’s also the chance to liven up the loot pool with some interesting items not to mention cool Halloween-themed skins in the store. What can we expect in Fortnitemares 2024?
Fortnitemares 2024
By the looks of the trailer, Fortnitemares Chapter 5 is going to be one of the bigger updates we’ve had outside of new seasons. It looks like an event on the same level as Chapter 4’s Most Wanted, which almost took us from C4 S1 to 1.5 in how big it was.
Fortnitemares 2024 can be divided into a few categories. We’ll start with the actual changes to the in-game content. The new items, POI changes, and new mode here for Fortnitemares 2024.
Fortnitemares Chapter 5 In-Game Changes
Map Changes
A nice surprise in the leaks for this year’s Fortnitemares has been the changes to the map and POIs we’re expecting.
In past years, we saw a few new areas pop up on the map, but more recently this has been reduced down to just a few decorations sprinkled around and a new area. However, for Fortnitemares 2024 we’re looking at updates for some of the older spots on the Chapter 5 map. These will be at places like Rebel’s Roost and Pleasant Plaza, redone for the autumn.
New Items for Fortnitemares Chapter 5
Chainsaw
In the initial trailer for Fortnitemares, we’ve gotten a reveal for our first new item! A melee-Chainsaw attack.
This looks like a particularly unique weapon. You get up close and chainsaw your enemy. Fortnite melee weapons have been interesting over the years, but most suffer from the problem of not being a shotgun.
The Fortnite Chainsaw item should be coming with the Fortnitemares updates. It’ll likely be a mythic or higher rarity loot item but still widely available.
The chainsaw does look like a fun melee combo item. It’ll go particularly well with the Fortnitemares skins we’ve got lined up! If it can outplay traditional guns is a bit less clear though.
Returning Fortnitemares 2024 Weapons
That’s not the only weapon coming for Fortnitemares. Most years we get a few returning items.
These usually begin with candy. Found near homes all around the map. These each have unique effects, like blinking, or healing.
Candy is one of the most unique consumables. They’re not game-changing, but remembering a lot of POIs have these in usual loot locations can help you out if you’re caught in a rough fight.
We also sometimes get items like the Witch’s broom in the game. It’s not clear if this will be returning yet, but it would definitely be a good addition to the Fortnitemares weapons.
There’s already a ton of mobility dominating the Chapter 5 weapons tier list, but a more traditional form wouldn’t go amiss.
Skins for Fortnitemares Chapter 5
Outside of items, there’s one other major feature of Fortnitemares; skins. Every day we get more skins in the item store but themed events like this are a bit more special. We get the type of skin that doesn’t pop up all year round.
The Fortnitemares 2024 skins include some of the weirder collabs we’ve had so far. Along with another event pass, which has become quite regular in this Chapter of Fortnite. These are the big ones to know about:
Fortnitemares 2024 Collabs and Item Store Skins
New collabs and item store skins are expected throughout the whole of Fortnitemares 2025! We’re getting some particularly fun ones this year.
To start, we’re getting Letherface. He’s already been shown off extensively in the trailer and of course ties in with the Chainsaw. He’s filling the Michael Myers skin role this year, a grislier crossover that players might not have expected to show up.
Next is Edward Scissorhands! For a more family-friendly spooky skin. The hairdresser is from the Tim Burton movie, strangely the second film from the director to cross over with Fortnite. Maybe eventually we’ll get even more Burton character.
Another returning collab is Nightmare Before Christmas. The first version of this came last year, but this time we’re getting two more skins. Sally is arriving along with the Pumpkin King version of Jack. Both of these will be Item Store skins.
Outside of these, we’ll likely get more original Fortnite characters in the store. Fortnitemares is a time when skins get remixed with new Halloween versions.
A Halloween form of Lexa is due to be released for Fortnitemares 2024. But we can expect a few more over the next few weeks too.
Fortnitemares Chapter 5 Event Pass
Finally, we’ve got a slightly better value form of skin; the event pass. This happens every season at the moment, a mini-Battle Pass with a single skin along with other rewards.
It sits somewhere in the middle of things, not as good value as a Battle Pass but cheaper than the Item Store. To unlock everything, you need to complete quests throughout Fortnitemares.
If you go for the premium tier of the pass, you’ll end up with a couple of styles for a werewolf skin, along with other rewards.
The event pas will be going live with Fortnitemares 2024 update. However, we’ll likely see quests arrive week to week. So, fans who purchase it will have to go through the quests each week to make sure they unlock everything.
These challenges are always a bit more specific, not just get kills and win Fortnite games. Usually, you have to engage with all the new content.
When Does Fortntiemares End?
Fortnitemares 2024 looks like a lot of fun, but everything must eventually end. When will see this event wrap up?
We won’t know for certain until we reach November. However, there’s an obvious stopping point with the rhythm of Fortnite so far.
The current season ends on November 2nd. We’ll likely see Fortnitemares wrap up at the same time. It’s possible we could see the Superhero focus return for the final day, but if Fortnitemares runs up to Halloween it would only really give players an extra day with the original Chapter 5 Season 4 items.
It makes more sense for Fortnitemares Chapter 5 to be running right to the end of the season. Then we’ll move onwards, to Fortnite OG Chapter 2 before a whole new island.
