Players chasing after the A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead achievements will be able to use a popular feature seen in Alien: Isolation. Yes, Saber Interactive and Stormind Games have announced that A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead will feature a noise detection mechanic where the game’s enemies can detect you through your microphone while playing the upcoming Xbox horror game.A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead will feature a noise detection mechanic on XboxIf you’re yet to experience the terror caused by similar mechanics in games like Alien: Isolation, the feature essentially uses your headset’s microphone to pick up any real-world noises you might make, alerting any monsters of your presence. It’s an optional feature, so if you don’t want to be killed in-game because your dog barked at the pizza delivery guy, you’re free to play without it. Noise detection features like this are great for players in a quiet room wanting to fully immerse themselves in the game.A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is a single-player horror adventure game that sees you attempting to survive a post-apocalyptic world thrown into silence as a young college student called Alex and her boyfriend Martin. Suffering from asthma, Alex must use her wits and a selection of simple tools to survive the keen-eared creatures now stalking Earth, as well as other survivors and the many dangers a decaying world can throw at you. If you fancy taking your chances in Stormind Games’ upcoming horror game, we recently revealed the A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead Xbox achievements, which is a pretty varied list. With achievements linked to completing the game on hard difficulties, time-based challenges, and a host of collectible and miscellaneous achievements, it sounds like we’ll be in for a busy time surviving the apocalypse. A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead launches on Xbox Series X|S on October 17. Looking further ahead, Creative Assembly has announced that the aforementioned Alien: Isolation now has a sequel in early development, so perhaps that will be another game we can look forward to using noise detection in.
