It seems Konami is going to keep us waiting, as Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater producers are keeping quiet when asked about its release date. However, they have offered a few exciting updates for the upcoming remake, ensuring fans that they “can see the goal.”
Producer Noriaki Okamura and creative producer Yuji Korekado were asked in a recent Famitsu interview when they thought Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater would release. While the two were silent, Okamura did remark that the game is playable from beginning to end. It seems Konami is putting in the finishing touches to ensure fans won’t be disappointed.
“That’s a pretty difficult question (laughs), but the game is actually already playable to the end, and we don’t expect it to take many years to complete,” says Okamura. “However, the most important thing in the development of this game is not to disappoint the fans. We want to finish it properly and announce it once it is in a state where it can be firmly confirmed.”
“Game development doesn’t proceed at a constant pace, so it’s difficult to express, but . . . we can see the goal, and we’re just adding the parts that are still missing,” says Korekado.
While a Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater release date isn’t confirmed, it is known Konami will take advantage of the PS5 Pro to enhance the remake by utilizing the console’s AI driven upscaling tech, PSSR.
“In Metal Gear Solid Delta, the innovative PSSR technology allows for the trees and the lush vegetation of the game’s iconic jungle terrain to become more vivid, and enhances the sense of realism of infiltrating through a natural environment,” Korekado said in a recent PlayStation Blog post. “Additionally, we are able to deliver a smoother gameplay experience with better framerates throughout the entire game.”
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will launch on PS5.
