Where is the giant goblin butcher in Throne and Liberty? You likely received an Exploration Codex to kill a Giant Goblin Butcher upon reaching the Urstella fields, northeast of the beginning town of Kostella. But you’re not the first nor the last unable to find him, as he’s on a fixed timer at a fixed location. Furthermore, other players can kill him quickly, meaning you’ve had no chance to do so yourself. Here’s all you need to know.

Throne and Liberty Giant Goblin Butcher location

As stated above, the Giant Goblin Butcher is found in Urstella Fields, northeast of Kostella and directly west of the Starlight Observatory Ruins, which you’ll visit as part of the main quest.

See the above map for the exact location. When he spawns, there will be a red-orange boss icon on your mini-map. If he’s not there, wait approximately five minutes for him to spawn, but do not go too far as if he dies before you get a hit in you will have to wait again. Consider using a ranged weapon to make this easier.

The Giant Goblin Butcher is part of the following Exploration Codex goal called Butcher in the Field:

  • Collect a Gatherable Item at Urstella Fields (2)
  • Defeat Giant Goblin Butcher (1)
  • Collect Goblin Loot from Urstella Fields (2)

Gatherable items can be spotted on both the full map and mini-map. You can obtain them by simply walking over and pressing the F key. Goblin Loot, on the other hand, are stacks of crates and pots spread throughout the area. Simply interact with them to collect it.

With the Giant Goblin Butcher dead and the loot collected, you’ll get some loot of your own as well as a special morph of a regular Goblin Butcher, which you can shapeshift into at any time for some fun.

While it’s not on our list of best MMORPGs yet, being able to shapeshift into various enemies is certainly a great inclusion for a socially-focused game. Just be sure not to morph into goblin butchers and run around with all your buddies lest you crash the game – make sure to check the Throne and Liberty system requirements before you try something like that.
